My ode to Capri

CAPRI DIEM
My novel Capri Diem is a celebration of Capri and of all those who embrace and love this majestic island.
The title Capri Diem, a play on the Latin Carpe Diem, reflects the philosophical spirit of the novel:
“Live each day as if it were your last, in search of joy and beauty. When you find beauty, you want to be part of it forever.”
A LIFE BETWEEN PLACES
I was born and raised in Oslo, Norway. At twenty-one, I left for New York where I met my husband and began a life that would take me between countries and continents. I spent twenty years as a flight attendant with Pan American Airways and another twenty with Delta Air Lines, living over those years between New York, California, Capri and Norway.
The first time I arrived alone on Capri, I knew that one day I wanted a home there. A few years later, I was able to make that dream a reality. Now retired, my husband and I live in Norway, but we still spend our summers on Capri, as we have for close to forty years.
Of all the places I have lived and loved,
Capri is where my soul belongs.
